If you have a passion to help improve global health in the 21st century, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) seeks to train you.
NIAID, the second largest Institute at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), offers the Intramural NIAID Research Opportunities (INRO) program for students from populations underrepresented in biomedical sciences. Candidates in strong academic standing who are a college-level senior, medical school student, or doctoral candidate are eligible.
Accepted applicants will:
Hear scientific lectures by world-renowned scientists.
Interview with scientists for potential research training positions at the Institute’s Maryland and Montana laboratories.
Tour NIAID laboratories and view state-of-the-science technologies.
The 4-day exploratory program takes place in Bethesda, MD, on the NIH campus, February7-10, 2011. Students’ expenses for travel, hotel accommodations, and meals will be paid.If INRO sounds like your next step toward a research career in allergy, immunology, and infectious diseases, don’t wait!
