“July phenomenon” -Fact or Fiction?


I’ve been an intern, so I kinda believe the “July phenomenon”.

“July phenomenon”- the infamous theory that the quality of medical care decreases and mortality increases in teaching hospitals starting in July, when interns fresh from medical school begin training and previous interns and residents take on new tasks—is more myth than scientific fact.
