CHCI Congressio​nal Internship Program (CIP)-Due April 27

The purpose of the Congressional Internship Program (CIP) is to expose young Latinos to the legislative process and to strengthen their professional and leadership skills, ultimately promoting the presence of Latinos on Capitol Hill and in Federal Agencies

Eligibility Criteria

Students must currently be enrolled full time and working towards their undergraduate degree Note: If selected as a finalist, all individuals will be required to provide confirmation of enrollment to participate in the program.

Individuals that will graduate in May/June 2012 are NOT eligible for the Summer session, but are eligible to participate in the Spring 2011 session and the 2012-2013 Public Policy Fellowship Program

Community college individuals graduating in June 2012 and are transferring to a new institution for the Fall 2012  semester are eligible for the Summer 2012 session.  However, if selected, they will be required to provide confirmation of enrollment at new institution for the Fall semester.

High academic achievement (No GPA requirement, however CHCI gives preference of 3.0 GPA or above)

Strong analytical and writing skills

Active participation in public and/or community service activities

U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency
