Volunteers Needed for Region 9 Tribal/EPA Conference-Oct 20-22


We need your help at the annual Region 9 Tribal/EPA Conference on October 20, 21, or 22. Shifts are available!

By volunteering in this event, you will learn more about the US EPA and Tribal environmental programs. Also, as a volunteer/monitor, you will be invited to attend a Dinner and presentation on October 20th from 6-8pm.

What:  The annual Region 9 Tribal/EPA Conference typically brings together more than 400 participants from California, Arizona, and Nevada tribal nations, and various federal and state agency representatives. The US EPA, other federal and state agencies, and Tribes continue to collaborate to protect public health and the environment on more than 27 million acres of tribal land in the Pacific Southwest. Workshops during the conference will cover topics such as land preservation, clean water, air quality, climate change, emergency response, funding opportunities, leveraging existing resources, and sharing successes in Indian country.

Where:  PARC55 Hotel off of the Powell Street BART station. The hotel’s street address is: 55 Cyril Magnin Street.

Tasks:  As a volunteer, you will ensure the workshop and presentation rooms are prepared, hand-out evaluation forms, and ensure speaker needs are met.

To sign-up for a shift, please email  Gwenda Rose at gwendar@soboba-nsn.gov. Shifts are available on October 18th through the 21st from 8am to noon and 1pm to 5:15pm and on the 22nd from 8am to 12:30pm.
