Clinic Position Available:
The Fresh Start Study is looking for a temporary clinic staff member to take blood pressures during an intensive period of follow-up clinic visits. This is a part-time, temporary position during evening clinic visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays, lasting approximately 4 weeks (October 5th –October 29th). We will provide training for taking blood pressures—no previous experience in taking the measurement is necessary.
Study overview:
The Fresh Start Study is a NIH R01 weight management trial, which includes six months of weekly classes and one year of follow-up clinic visits. Our participant population is a very diverse group of adult women, and they are a terrific group of people to work with. We will be seeing our first cohort for their 18-month visits as well as our second cohort of participants for their 6-month visits.
Overall clinic visit set up:
The visits are set up 15 minutes apart and take about 30 minutes each, so there are two clinic staff working with a ‘floater’ to direct traffic and have participants finish questionnaires, etc. There is a 15 or 30 minute break in starting a new person every 4-5 participants or so. Susannah Belding, who also works with the MrOs study, will be taking heights and weights, and the Fresh Start project coordinator, Danielle Schoffman, is the floater.
The visits will be held Mon-Thurs:
October 5th-8th, 3:00pm-8:30pm October 12th-15th, 3:00pm-8:30pm October 19th- 22nd, 3:00pm-8:30pm October 26th-29th, 3:00pm-8:30pm (with some possible hours November 2nd-5th if you are available)
We need someone who is available to work during the Tuesday and Thursday clinic visit sessions.
Visits will be held at the Hoover Pavilion (211 Quarry Rd, near Stanford Shopping Center), the weeks of October 5th and October 12th. Visits will be held at 1070 Arastradero Rd (between Hillview Ave and Deer Creek Rd) the remaining weeks (October 19th and on). Attached to this email are maps of both clinic visit sites. Candidates must have reliable transportation to both clinic visit sites.
There would be one training session and one certification session the week of September 21st, once HIPAA and human subjects modules were completed. The position pays $20/hour or commensurate with experience. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please email Danielle Schoffman at danielle.schoffman@stanford.edu
